Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born on 25th August 1949) is an American television chef and host. Burrell was also an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also the host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network presenter with her distinctive spikey blonde hair and exuberant personality, shares easy methods to master and removes the fear of eating at restaurants in her show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell has worked and studied in some of the most prestigious New York restaurants. He also battled Iron Chef America and the cuisine of Italy. As a child in the upper reaches of New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion for cooking and food early on. The Culinary Institute of America sparked her interest in the management of restaurants after she graduated with an English/Communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is a wonderful adventure. It was hard to study how to do, or even work hard enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell lived in Italy for a whole year attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Also, she was employed at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin highly rated restaurant) located in Tuscany. Burrell gained a greater understanding of Italian food and culture during her stay in Italy that has informed her style of cooking. Burrell is a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens the lives of children facing obstacles and is also a Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation celebrity ambassador, where she promotes children with diabetes and awareness. In her capacity as a guest speaker and mentor she travels across the United States to discuss her culinary passion and profession. Anne, throughout her entire culinary journey has stated that it is a privilege to have the opportunity to share her passion for the food industry with people.
